LKS spotlights student and alumni members that are making a difference in their chapters, in their communities, and in the field of pharmacy
About Amanda:
My name is Amanda Boyer, and I’m a P3 student at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I’m currently in my second year of serving as Alpha Phi’s Chaplain. My favorite part of being Chaplain for our chapter is being able to coordinate with local Girl Scouts to help them earn their First-Aid badges each year. I work as an intern at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill E. Norwegian campus. I love working in the hospital setting and hope to continue to do so after graduation. Outside of pharmacy, I’m pursuing a minor in Women and Gender Studies. In my free time, I like to read and spend time with my fur babies.
Why I joined LKS:
I joined LKS because all of the members were so kind, welcoming, and successful. I also loved the idea of helping to promote women in the profession of pharmacy.
Most memorable LKS experience:
My most memorable LKS experience was my first convention in Scranton, PA. We had the incredible honor of hosting convention that year. I loved being able to experience first-hand how amazing all the members of LKS are!
Career plans:
After graduation, I hope to pursue a residency. My dream job would incorporate women’s health into my practice. As of now, I’m just going where the wind takes me.
