I currently work as a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Kaiser Permanente of the MidAtlantic States in Springfield, VA. I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV, followed by a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, NY. I am is Board Certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist. My primary responsibility at Kaiser Permanente include diabetes management, medication adherence, rheumatology counseling, and precepting APPE students and residents.
Outside of my professional career, I volunteer at a local cat rescue organization. I also enjoy spending time outdoors (hiking, camping, kayaking) and enjoying a nice glass of wine.
Favorite LKS memory
My most memorable LKS experience was at the spaghetti dinner when I was a Potential New Member. I remember how friendly and inviting all the other sisters were, and how much fun we had getting to know everyone. I remember being stuck inside the human knot and getting to know my future sisters around me. It was a lot of fun, and we had so many laughs that evening! I believe this is one of the events that really solidified my dedication and desire to become a sister.
Advice to students
I would encourage sisters to reach out and expand your network. You never know what friendship or networking experience will open doors in the future.
Why are you a lamb for life?
I am a lamb for life because I found our sisters the most humbling of pharmacists. It is reassuring to know that no matter where you travel, you will always have a friend and a smile seeing my fellow lambs!
If not a pharmacist…
If I were not a pharmacist, I would be a dietician.
