My name is Ashlee Durand and I’m going into my fifth year at MCPHS University. I am the current president of Alpha chapter, and was previously the Historian. I’m currently doing an IPPE rotation at St. Joseph Hospital in New Hampshire which this far I have had so much fun with! In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friends, and going to the beach as much as possible! This summer I’m looking forward to going to convention in Buffalo, it will be my first time attending!
I joined LKS because I felt a little lost when I first started school. I had taken a year off after graduating high school before I started college. I found it hard to get back into the swing of things. I loved the support system that LKS brought to its members. Each and every one of the sisters I met was incredibly sweet and so welcoming. I admired the bond they all had, and wanted to be apart of it all. Since joining I feel like I finally found where I belong. These girls have become some of my best friends, and have supported me through thick and thin. They’ve challenged me to be a better student and a better person. LKS has helped me grow so much in just a short time, and I’m excited for this year.
My most memorable LKS experience has been getting my little. It’s been a short time but I already love her so much. I can’t wait to see what she does in LKS and how she grows. I hope to be able to help push her towards her goals, and be there as a shoulder to lean on!
For my future career plans I’m still a little undecided. I’m very dedicated to a patient centered atmosphere, and I also absolutely love working with kids. I’m stuck between working in an independent pharmacy or pursing a hospital avenue. Ideally I’d like to be a pediatric pharmacist, but I’m also looking into ambulatory care.
