I am a 6th year PharmD student and a member of Alpha Chapter. I am a past President of my chapter as well as a past Fundraiser chair. I attended Convention in 2013 in Boston and 2016 in Scranton and am looking forward to this year’s in Atlanta! I currently work in the Pharmacy Department at Boston Children’s Hospital, which I love and find very rewarding. When I’m not at school or work, I love to cook and enjoy trying out new recipes and creating my own dishes. In summer, I love going to the beach with a good book!
Why did you join LKS?
When I first went to college, I was interested in joining a Greek organization mostly because my older sister had been in one and I thought it seemed like a good environment to be in. After meeting sisters at school and recruitment events, I realized LKS was much more than that. I instantly felt like I fit in and could really learn and benefit from being in an organization such as this one.
Most memorable LKS experience?
My most memorable LKS experience was meeting my big sister. I remember meeting her at our Big/Little reveal, and she immediately gave me a big hug even though we had barely met before. She excitedly said “Hi, I’m Emily!”, and I had no idea what to say. So I just said, “Hi, I’m Emily, too”, and we both laughed. Since then, she has been such a role model for me, and I love how close we were able to become just from being in LKS together!
What are your career plans?
I have a lot of academic interests, but the field I am most interested in is cardiology. I plan to pursue a residency and eventually become an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist to work with cardio patients. My dream is also to move somewhere out of New England to experience something new while I’m working on my residency.
