Meet Jenna Christner

Chapter: Tau Chapter (Duquesne University)

Tell us about yourself:

Hello! My name is Jenna Christner, and I am a PY3 student at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. I am the current president of the Tau chapter. I have held various leadership positions in LKS, such as the corresponding secretary and the service chair. During my time in LKS, I have created a “Lambie of the Year” award, assisted in organizing a Convention Committee, and rebuilt our Project HOPE goals and initiatives. Outside of LKS, I am the President of Duquesne’s Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and a member of Phi Lambda Sigma. I have attended the 2018 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, the 2019 PSHP Emerging Practitioners Professional Development Day, and I will be representing the Tau chapter at the 2019 LKS Convention. Also, I have worked at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital for the past three years, and I love working in the neonatal-intensive care unit. When I am not busy with the pharm life, I enjoy watching reality TV, especially Vanderpump Rules, Million Dollar Listing, and Very Cavallari. I am also a huge foodie and love to explore the restaurants of Pittsburgh.

I joined LKS because:

I joined LKS my freshmen year because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself. I was truly amazed at how empowering these women of pharmacy were, and I aspired to be a role model just like them! I also was very excited to make connections with girls in the same major as me. Joining LKS was the best decision I made in college!

My most memorable LKS experience:

My most memorable LKS experience was our annual “5 th Year Brunch”. Every year, our chapter honors our sisters in their third professional year at a brunch and family join us as well. This year was very special to me because I have met so many great women during my time in LKS, and I enjoyed meeting their families and introducing them to mine. I also loved reading the “shout outs” that were written to me and spending time with my tree!

Career plans:

After I graduate, I hope to pursue a residency in a hospital setting. I love hospital pharmacy and am interested in pediatrics and oncology. I am hoping my APPE rotations will provide me with some insight for future career goals.
