Tell us about yourself:
My name is Karlie Knobloch and I am from Cumberland, RI. I am going to be a P3 at the University of Rhode Island and
am an active sister in the LKS Xi Chapter! I was re-elected in the spring to serve as Treasurer for a second year. In the
past, I have been a Potential New Member Coordinator and co-chair of the PNM Committee. I am currently a pharmacy
intern at Rhode Island Hospital and CVS Pharmacy.
I joined LKS because:
As an incoming freshman, I was excited for the opportunity to meet new friends and older classmates in the pharmacy
program. As I became more involved in LKS that year, I realized LKS was much more than that to me. This organization
gave me lasting friendships, confidence to become more involved and an environment to follow my passions in pharmacy.
Being in LKS has been such an integral part of my pharmacy career, I couldn’t imagine my time at URI without LKS as a
part of it.
My most memorable LKS experience:
My most memorable LKS experience was the Initiation of my PNM class during my P1 year. The whole PNM process
taught me valuable time management skills, detailed organization, and working as a duo with my co-chair, Elisa. Though
the semester was hard, Initiation was one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences in my time in LKS. The younger sisters were so excited to finally be a part of this organization and seeing their excitement reminded me of when I was initiated as a freshman. Initiation reminded me why I wanted to be a PNM coordinator, so I could get younger sisters just as excited and involved in LKS like my PNM coordinators did for me as a PNM.
Currently, I am thinking about pursuing a PGY1 residency when I graduate. I am not sure exactly which field I am most interested in but I’m hoping this next year and then my APPE rotations will help guide me on the right path.
