Meet Kimberly Grattan
Chapter: Xi Chapter (Univ. of Rhode Island)
About Kimberly
I’m currently in my 5th year at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and a member of Xi Chapter. I served as our chapter’s PNM Coordinator in 2015-2016, Professionalism Committee Chair in 2016-2107 and am currently on the Membership Committee. I attended Convention in Scranton (2016) and Atlanta (2017), and I’m hoping to make it to Buffalo in 2018!
In addition to LKS, I am involved in the Peer Mentors and Phi Lambda Sigma at URI. I also currently work for CVS Health and recently participated in their Summer Leadership Development Internship on Cape Cod. In my free time, I like to read, listen to Taylor Swift and spend time with family and friends.
Why did you join LKS?
I went to an all-girls high school and knew that I wanted to have a similar sisterhood experience in college. So my freshman year, I was interested in joining a women’s Greek organization. At the first LKS meeting, I admired the PNM Coordinators (Emily and Leah) and hoped that LKS would help me to present myself with the same poise and confidence that they had. After meeting more sisters at recruitment events and seeing how they pushed each other to be the best versions of themselves, I knew that LKS was the organization for me.
Most memorable LKS experience?
I have so made so many great memories through LKS. The one that stands out the most was during my time as PNM Coordinator when my co-coordinator Emily and I held a sleepover for all 44 of the Potential New Members. While a bit cramped, it was a great night with pizza, a movie and plenty of bonding time!
What are your career plans?
As of now, I hope to practice in the community setting. However, with rotations next year giving me the opportunity to be exposed to different practices settings, I am keeping an open mind as to where I will be after graduation.
