Tell us about yourself:
I am a P3 at Ferris State University’s College of Pharmacy. I completed my undergraduate at Ferris as well, making this upcoming year my sixth year at Ferris State! I am a member within the Alpha Iota chapter of LKS and have loved the time I
have gotten to spend with my sisters. I have served as multiple chairs within my chapter including recruitment, corresponding secretary [on e-board], J-board for several years, and enjoy participating in as many committee and service events as my schedule allows. I also was the first from our chapter to become a rho gamma, which is a recruitment counselor for girls participating in the social sorority’s formal recruitment process [we are associated members of panhellenic counsel, therefore we have social rights as well]. I am currently transitioning as an intern within Meijer Pharmacy to a hospital intern position. I enjoy watching movies, spending time with family and friends, hiking, and napping with my puppy Kota.
I joined LKS because:
I joined LKS to make friends who had the same professional intentions as myself. I wanted to meet a group of women who are dedicated to enhancing their pharmacy careers, and will build others to help them achieve their dreams. My best friend had joined LKS as a freshmen, and I wanted to take part in the same journey she was. I am unbelievably grateful for my time in LKS, and the amazing memories, ever-lasting friendships, and loving sisters I have made along the way. These are some of the most amazing women I have ever met, and I look forward to having them in my life forever. Some of these sisters will be the women standing next to me on my wedding day and the aunts/godmother’s to my future children. Not to mention my big sister and twin sister are two of the most inspirational women I have ever met, and it is an honor to always have their support and encouragement in all that I do! I love all my sisters and everything LKS stands for. I am not just a member of LKS Alpha Iota, but Alpha Iota is a part of who I am today as well. Esse Quam Videri!!
My most memorable LKS experience:
My most memorable LKS experience is being three time lip sync champions with our corresponding paired fraternity. Since we have social rights as panhellenic counsel associate members, we are able to participate in homecoming and greek week activities as a team with the any fraternity who would like to partner with us. As a chapter our favorite social activity is the lip sync competition, which we were able to win against all other social sororities for three semesters in a row, almost always placing in the top three. Winning our three peat title with sisters by my side has been my most memorable moment within LKS.
Upon graduation, my plan is to complete a residency within a pediatric hospital pharmacy, and with time become a pediatric pharmacist within a Children’s hospital. I am positive LKS has helped to make this career dream a reality with the extensive networking, life lessons, and progressive nature to help elevate women within pharmacy.
