Meet Samantha Clevenstine
Chapter: Xi Chapter (University of Rhode Island)
About me
My name is Samantha Clevenstine and I am a P2 at the University of Rhode Island College of pharmacy. This is my fourth year as a member of Lambda Kappa Sigma. I am currently the vice president of Xi Chapter and was a professional committee chair last year. I have attended the past two conventions and I am so excited for Milwaukee this year! I work at Walgreens as a pharmacy intern and I also waitress for a local restaurant at home in Pennsylvania. In my free time, I enjoy running, going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.
Why did you join LKS?
I joined LKS my freshman year of college because my roommate convinced me to go to the first meeting. I was initially scared to join and afraid this was not the organization for me. After the first meeting, I knew that LKS was the perfect place to make friends in pharmacy school and develop leadership skills I did not even know I had. I’m beyond thankful I joined LKS!
Most memorable LKS experience
My most memorable LKS experience was my first convention in Atlanta, Georgia. I was given the opportunity to present at Lamb talks with two other sisters from my chapter. Public speaking is not one of my strengths and I never thought that I would speak at a national convention. This presentation gave me confidence to run for leadership positions within my chapter.
Career plans
As of now, I’m still unsure what path of pharmacy I would like to pursue. I have always had an interest in pediatrics and working with people. I’m looking forward to finding my future career in the next few years of school and during my rotations.
